We make beautiful, custom made drapery, shades, bedding and pillows for designers and homeowners in Mississauga, Canada and we ship them all over North America. Q. Design is the result of striving to create custom window coverings and other soft goods products that are beautiful, functional with an ordering process that is simple and streamlined.
Q. Design has a handmade history. Currently owned and operated by Marilyn and Lindsay, a cohesive Mother/Daughter duo that have been working together for over 15 years, Q. Design was founded in 2000 as We Do Draperies Limited by Marilyn and Lindsay joined as partner in 2002 right after graduating from McMaster University.
Marilyn has been an avid and talented sewer since she started designing and sewing her own clothing in high school! After creating all the dance costumes for Lindsay’s dance recital in 1985 she was approached by a dance mum who was an interior designer to make draperies and so she did.
Marilyn is a self taught perfectionist when it comes to getting custom drapery right for designers, decorators and homeowners both near and far. While Lindsay is a proficient seamstress her passion lies in growing the business, perfecting it’s systems and ensuring her team is happy and thriving! More recently Marilyn’s other daughter Adrienne has come on board to learn the business and grow it to the next level! We also have 7 other talented artisans on our team who have all been with us several years and have honed their skills to assist in our quest for drapery perfection!
We have built our business on the platinum rule: treat others the way they want to be treated. We know custom drapery inside and out but our clients are usually just getting the hang of it so we make it easy peasy! We are always happy to help you figure it all out!
Marilyn Woods — Co-owner
Marilyn has over 30 years of experience in the custom drapery business. She is an expert in all forms of window coverings and has a passion for learning and adapting to this ever-changing industry. Her role as owner of Q. Design allows her to oversee each project from the time of measuring until its completion. She excels at whole home window covering project management! Marilyn is available for quoting, measuring, consultation and production inquiries.
Lindsay Woods — Lady Boss
Lindsay has been an owner at Q. Design since 2002. Her current role is in marketing and building the business, perfecting it’s systems and developing it’s ever changing product lines along with overseeing every aspect of book keeping and our production team. She has worked in all areas of measuring, production and installation and can speak and train knowledgeably about each area. You can reach her by email with a zippy response time!
Crystal Terribile — Drapery Stylist for Homeowners
Crystal Terribile started with Q. Design in 2002 as a finisher in the workroom. Over the course of her time in this role she managed the assembly, production and finishing of each item and was also in charge of quality control. Crystal has completed her Interior Decorating certificate at Humber College and she is now Q. Design's drapery stylist for homeowners both for online products and custom.
Patti Shaver — Drapery Stylist for Trade
Patti completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree, Teaching Degree and Interior Design Diploma before working at Q. Design. She works as an assistant to Lindsay and Marilyn and is our drapery stylist for our trade clients. Patti is capable of quoting, ordering, administering memo samples and helping source fabric and hardware in the showroom or via phone or email.

Our team of highly trained Canadian artisans come from all over the world and bring an attention to detail that just can't be found from other workrooms. Our cutter and pattern maker along with our seamstresses and assembly and finishing team make perfect product every day. Adrienne, Carmel, Nada, Shelley and Wieslawa are just the best!!
